i recently (last night) watched the brand new star trek. i liked it, it was super nerdy and corny and fun and interesting, oh and adventurous. and there were some fabulous characters... gotta love scotty, and bones and spock spock spock (hes my favorite. he reminds me of several people that i just really love. and he's smart-funny which is awesome. i wish i could be smart-funny too).
"pensive" spock:

"kill the pretty boy spock! kill him!" spock: (ps maybe some symbolism here? nerds rising to take over the conceited jerks? i hope!)

"spock in action" spock:

my only only complaint was that it got a little long. and that kirk was too much of a pretty boy. really?! he just shouldnt look like this:

its just too distracting from the movie! he should look more manly and less god-like or something. (as in more realistic and less perfect maybe?) here he just reminds me of edward (yes, that edward) and that makes me want to vomit my brains out! : )
maybe thats why i've always hated edward? hes not realistic at all. go team jacob! but then again have you seen jacobs abs lately? hmmm... (as a side note, i am just really embarrassed to have this picture posted on my blog. but its also funny. so im leaving it)

other than that, the movie was awesome. as was the music. awesome. (can i say that word one more time?? yes. yes??? awesommmme). in case you were wondering, sabotage by the beastie boys and awasoruk jam by cyrano jones were the songs i liked.
so here's a lil' update for all y'all. i went to dc on friday dateless. but thats ok because i didnt need a date to feel fulfilled and awesome (again! with the awesome! i dont have any idea whats going on). but the point is they spoofed star trek during their show and after last night when i saw star trek for real, suddenly all the jokes on friday became that much more funny.
for example:
dc skit:
the captain had been captured by the enemy! he was tied up and wasnt talking! the enemy knew he had to torture the captain for information so they brought in the skinny, long haired, blond california freshman...? she talked and talked and talked about NOTHING until he broke. (actually she was talking about herself and her tan but thats basically the same thing as nothing right?)
on the funny scale: pretty funny! they made fun of blonds, californians, and freshman. that is definitely a workable joke! funny funny!
in the movie:
the captain had been captured by the enemy! he was tied up and wasnt talking! the enemy knew he had to torture the captain for information so they brought in the centaurian brain slugs that latch on to a person's brain stem, forcing him to tell the truth.
on the funny scale: not funny in the movie. at all. but when you start thinking about that blond freshman latching onto your brain stem.... it becomes very funny! good work dc team!

(post edit: apparently it is IMPOSSIBLE to find the song "awasoruk jam" anywhere! like literally impossible. its the song that was playing when kirk entered the bar and its not on itunes, amazon, limewire, or youtube or anywhere. there is a clip, a clip! maybe 25 seconds long, on imeem. you can only get to it by typing in only "cyrano jones" and for some unexplainable reason its titled awadoruk jam... lammme!)
